RE: Anyone towed a Town & Country mini van?

Really interested in this thread. I want to do the same with a Windstar that weighs 4150 using a Winnie Sightseer on a w-16 chassis. What exactly is your MH? What chassis?

Florida registration

I know the personal property taxes are different in Fla than they are in Va and that some Va residents register their MH in other states. What are the laws and how is it done??

RE: towing with a dolly

The van is a Ford windstar. I bought the Winnie used and the guy said he towed a Ford Ranger pickup with it, even threw in a tow bar but I don't have any thing I can tow 4 down. Towing the bike in the summer works great but these old bones would like a little more heat this winter.

towing with a dolly

I am thinking of towing a mini van that weighs 4300 lbs with the front on a dolly. If the dolly has brakes, what kind of trouble will i expect to have? Will toe with a 30ft winnie with 8.1 workhorse chassis. Thanks to those who reply

Dolley or flat tow?

What are the down side problems with using a tow dolly with brakes vs flat towing. I will be using a 30ft winnie with an 8.1 gas. I am thinking of putting my Winstar van on a dolly that is equipped with brakes. Thanks to all who reply.

RE: What am I missing??

Thanks to those that replied. I really can't stay but maybe 6 weeks or so, too many obligations back home. Would like to try the Florida Gulf coast as a first timer. Don't really need a lot of bells and whistles, I have my golf clubs and a motorcycle to go exploring on. That $450 a month sounds about right. May just come on down and look around Any way thanks to all.

What am I missing??

I have asked questions about where some of you stay in the winter and have gotten several good suggestions none of which I could afford. Eight hundred a month plus electric is a little steep. I can stay in a beach front condo in Myrtle Beach SC for $600. What am I missing?

Need a place to stay

DW and I are thinking about going to Fla or S.Georgia fr the month of Feb and maybe a few weeks in march. Do not want to pay a fortune or get stuck in a dud for 6 weeks. Some where on the gulf coast north of Tampa is what we're thinking. We can check a lot of web sites but they are often deceiving. Would really appreciate your input for some first time snowbirds.

Its hot

I have a winnebago sightseer and I'm burning up. The lines running from the engine to the heater under the bed put off an awful lot of heat. Is there a cutoff valve or can I install one? How is it pumped?or does it just use the process of hot water rising?

two questions

I have read several places that its better to run the gen set and house air than the dash air while traveling. Whats the real scoop. second question is have any of you ever used the leveling jacks to change a tire?

air filter

what is the procedure to changing the air filter on a workhorse chassis. I've found it but I'm not sure how it comes apart. Which pipe do you remove?

RE: us 441 between Franklin NC and Gatlinburg TN

Don't confuse Gatlinburg with Pigeon Forge even though are only 4 mi apart. Head directly for wears {sp} valley road. There are several nice camp grounds and the trolley comes through about every 20min. You can connect to other trolleys that will take you to Dollywood or shopping malls or any where else you may want to go. Don't miss Cherokee, The grans will love it. You can dry camp in the casino parking lot. Try to make it to the outdoor drama Unto These Hills, I'm pretty sure you can catch a bus. Happy camping

Inverter Question

Black and Decker outlet store has 800 watt inverter for 30 bucks. Will this be ok to run a small fan or coffee pot when dry camping. Just clamp on to house battery under floor? what problems do you see? thanks

workhorse suspension

What is the best suspension upgrade for the money for the workhorse chassis. Going down interstate the other day really had to fight crosswinds.
